Position Description

Sextant Wines is a family owned and operated winery based in Paso Robles, CA. Sextant Wines is known for their award winning Zinfandels and very special Bordeaux blends. Sextant Wines has tasting rooms in both Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo, where the main office is located. The winery is growing and needs an energetic and efficient ‘Director of Hospitality’ with strong customer service, organizational, and people skills to join their team.

Director of Hospitality

Position Responsibilities:
• Manage tasting room staff and schedules
• Overall Management; wine club, set sign up goals, monitor progress against goals, and report progress
• Overall Management; the logistics of the wine club shipments including the creation of point of sale material/marketing collateral, shipment scheduling, processing/follow up of credit cards
• Plan annual wine club events
• Oversee/Manage all aspects of website maintenance and e-commerce functions
• Work directly with the Accounting Department to oversee inventory at multiple locations, and manage spending to budget
• Provide marketing and brand development support and planning through the following activities: public relations, special event management, social networking site management, and creative advertising
• Work with the proprietors and chef to improve profitability of The Gourmet Deli
• Coordinate an outreach campaign to local businesses and other wineries
• Provide a premier level of customer service to both wholesale (distributors) and DTC
• Coordinate marketing and presentation material for distribution to both wholesale and retail customers
• Collaborate with the proprietors/admin staff to effectively manage off-premise events
• Ensure that all events, competitions, and donation requests are tracked and processed in a timely manner. Prepare wines and POS for events
• Perform regular office administration duties, including fielding telephone calls, customer service, and scheduling tastings
• Other duties as assigned

At least 3 years of management experience, mandatory
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong grammar skills
Highly developed organizational skills
Ability to keep multiple projects moving forward in the face of competing priorities
Strong teamwork orientation
Self-motivated individual who takes initiative to solve problems
Sales, marketing, or hospitality experience in the Wine Industry is preferred
